How to Clean Disc Drives

If the CD or DVD (disc) drive starts to providing you the problem, first you might think to replace or take it to the shop, but a good cleaning may be all it needs.
Here are three ways to clear disk. The simplest method is the most effective. The most difficult method is the most effective. The most difficult method takes some time, because to do so, I suggest you start with the easiest method.
If you solve the problem, congratulations. If not, try the following method. Clean the disc method - this method is very easy with a special cleaner disc which can be purchased at computer stores. Disks typically have little bottle of pure solutions. Apply a few drops of solution on the disc and insert a disc in the box (be sure to read and follow the instructions that come with the blank disc). Disc will be turned away and clean the lens. Unfortunately, this only works properly about half the time. Cleaning Stick method

- this is what I am in despair, when a blank disc does not work, and I do not want to disassemble the drive. Since all that is required (at least in my opinion, it's true) it is a bit more pressure on the lens, I began to look thin, flexible stick to a certain type, at least six inches in length. We should not have sharp or rough edges that will scratch the lens. Next, get a soft, thin cloth and put water or rubbing alcohol in the middle of it.
One end of stay under the wet part of the fabric and slide the box will be opened in the disk. The objective is to rub the wet cloth from the lens to clean it. Do not apply so that the pressure can damage the lens and start. Also try blowing into the drive to remove any dirt that may have accommulated inside. If you are unable at this time, go to the next method. Disassembly method

- this method should work, but you need to disassemble the drive. So if you are not comfortable taking apart from the disc, please bring it to a computer repair and let them do it. Take cover on your computer, unplug the cable from the back of the disk, remove all the screws in and slide it (you may need to remove the face plate at the end of the box to expel).

Remove the screws in the drive housing and cover. At the bottom of the drive board, so if this is what you see when you take cover, find out how to get to the other side. On the right, you'll see a lens that works on the track (with no loss in the lens moves along the track, but not touching the lens itself). With the help of clothing, soft cloth for cleaning lenses. Sometimes disk failures due to too much dust and debris in it, so be sure to clean the inside or compressed air, soft tissue, or cotton swab. Return the drive to return it if the computer and cross your fingers. I hope it will work if you turn on your computer. If this method works, you just saved yourself some money. If not, then you need to better drive anyway.
